Our Wedding 5/31/2014

I finally got the pictures back from the photographer for our wedding, so now I can share what a beautiful day it was for us!
Of course, Darryl and I have been married many years, but we just got officially married in the Orthodox Church.
What a blessing it was!
I had never been to an Orthodox wedding (except for when my parents got married in the church, but I was just a little one and don't remember).
The ceremony has such beautiful symbolism and rituals.
I was in awe the entire time and was on the verge of tears several times.
Our good friends, The Hunts agreed to be our sponsors.
I did get a chuckle several times when Father said to be fruitful and multiply...ummmm...check!
Of course, I know this is generally performed before couples procreate, but I thought it funny, none the less.  Honestly, I thought several times of the future of my children standing where I was, watching them be married in the church.  How I hope they get to experience the beauty and gift our Lord has given us with this sacrament.  It held such meaning to me spiritually.
Many thanks to Father Michael for performing the ceremony.  He has such a gentle spirit, a true treasure in the Orthodox church community.

Thank you sweet husband of mine for marrying me once again.
I am so blessed to be married to you.
The first time on January 18, 1996 and now again in our beloved Orthodox Church on May 31, 2014.
