Mommy:
"Joseph, do you want to start going poo-poo on the potty like a big boy?"

Joseph:
"No"

Mommy:
(making yucky face)
"You still want to go poo-poo in a diaper with poo-poo all over your butt?"

Joseph:
"Yes."

Mommy:
"Are you sure you don't want to use the potty like mommy and daddy?"

Joseph:
"Yes"

I guess he's not ready to be potty trained.

Juliana in the leaf pile

This was the boy's idea...I promise!
They thought it would be so cute to put little Juliana in the leaf pile since they were having a grand time.
And while she was a bit hesitant, she endured their endless tortures...such is the life of a baby sister in a household of older brothers.

They thought it would be fun to bury her just a bit more thinking she would like it better.

She is starting to get a bit scared.

Now of course, she's mad!

Poor little lady, I'll come rescue you!

Nicholasism

Nicholas
"Mom, my stomach hurts."
Rolling around on the sofa moaning.

Mom
"Maybe you ate something funny and it didn't agree with you."

Pause....
Nicholas thinking...

Nicholas
" I think it's just my ab pack growing."

The Simple Pleasures of Fall

What can be more fun than a pile of leaves in the fall?
Joseph has discovered the joy this year and it was hard to get him out of the pile.
He joyfully laughed and jumped for hours!

He  brought me some leaves so that I could join in the fun.
Such a joy this boy is to me and how grateful I am to be his mommy.

Choo-Choo

 Obsessed.
This one has been bitten by the choo-choo bug.
It's contagious in our family.
The boys had it when they were young.
But this one, he's got it BAD.
Everything is choo-choo.  Clouds in the sky are steam from the choo-choo.   Noises could be the choo-choo coming.  Screams of delight going over train tracks.   At nap time, I need to prop train books in his crib so that he can view the cover  before he falls asleep.
Everything is finished with saying, "All-aboard!"
Obsessed.

Here his little peg people and Little People are watching his choo-choo's go round and round for 8+ hours.   Yes, yesterday and the day before he played with his new battery powered Thomas train for 8+ hours.  I've never seen a 2 year old sit that long with one activity, but this little Joe...he did. (:
He told me today he was going to be the conductor on a steam engine (in his own 2 year old way).
My sweet little Joe, the conductor.

He loves his choo-choos.

She sits!

Miss Juliana is sitting up now by herself.
She is really loving the new view, but to be honest, she doesn't stay in one place long.  She will sit for a couple of moments and then purposely fall backwards or forwards so she can scoot and roll across the room.

She loves books just like all of my children.

Yes, she eats them as well as reads.

Oh boy, that belly....
It's just too much...

Halloween 2013

Well, another Halloween has come and gone.  I get so sad when holidays end.  The anticipation all month long and then it's over in a blink...kindof like life, no?  I do appreciate and savor these moments, because I see as the big boys grow, how fast it all goes...sniff...

Enough with the sappy stuff, let's get to happy things!

After a short school morning, which consisted of a bit of math, religion studies and writing class, we got together to read some spooky stories.
Then, I planned a special Halloween lunch.

 Isn't he cute?
I made carrots and cucumbers into a pumpkin with some homemade ranch dip for a nose.

Found this idea online, so cute!
Banana ghosts with chocolate chip eyes.  The kids loved these!

I made these last year and they were a hit, so why not continue tradition.
Mummy pizzas with olive eyes.

Joey tried getting away with just eating the chocolate pieces...silly boy!

Joey, as Carl from the movie, Up.

Nicholas was a mime this year.

Clark Kent in the house!
(Matthew)

Sweet baby Juliana was a ghost.

We stopped in downtown Concord before we headed to trick-or-treat with friends.
Some of these wonderful folks really make it special for the kids.  This house never disappoints with a large pirate ship in their front yard and pirate characters to talk with the children.
Joey was in awe!

Nicholas, in character or a character...not sure which.

Joey looks so much like an old man here.  So many people loved his costume.

On to our friends the Michael's.  They lovingly opened their home up to all our friends.  We had such a great time trick-or-treating in the neighborhood and then visiting afterwards.  It's so much fun when you are with a big group.
I'll admit I was a bit sad as the big boys left to go trick-or-treat with their friends and left us.  I guess we couldn't move fast enough for them...lol..

It was a great Halloween this year~
I'm so thankful for the sweet memories.
