Finger paint becomes body paint.

Little Joe has filled up his potty chart!  We had a few issues the first go around, but experience has taught me to let it go and wait until the child is ready, not when we are ready.
So, Joe let us know he was ready to use the potty and he did great!  I made a little train potty chart for him and told him when he filled the chart with stickers, we would take him on a train ride.
He was so excited when he filled that chart!
So, last Sunday afternoon we headed to downtown Charlotte to take him on the light rail for a *train* ride.
Here he is buying the tickets.

Sweets looking sweet.

He couldn't sit still waiting for the train to show up, he was so excited!

"Wow!  This train awesome!", says Joe.

Even though I don't love changing diapers,  I'm sad that this chapter is closing.
My little Peanut is growing up and doing new things everyday.
We all love you Joey and are so proud of you!

Of course little lady couldn't ride the rides, but that didn't stop her fun.
She loved all the music the rides were playing.
She danced and danced!

Daddy making up a ride for sweets.

"Thanks daddy!"

My favorite part of the fair isn't the rides, but the animals and the blue ribbon showcases.
I LOVE to see what everyone created and grew to be judged.   I could spend the entire time in there, but alas, the kids were ready to hit the rides again.

See?  It was so empty!  It was like our own personal fair!

We all had such a great time.
The memories and laughs we shared were priceless.

Fun at the fair!

We had such a blast at the fair this year.  We went on a Monday night.  It was cool and had a chance of showers, so it was almost completely empty.  The kids literally walked on every ride and most of the time were the only kids on them!
I don't know if my favorite part was watching Joey's excitement on the rides or the looks on Nicholas and Matthew's faces after they rode some rides that made them sick-they were so funny!

Darryl and Matthew up H.I.G.H.

Joey having a great time.

Here Nicholas and Matthew are making fun of the *baby* ride.
Little did they know...
Afterwards we hit the *big kid* rides and they were so sick they wanted to ride the *baby* rides again!

Happy faces now...3 minutes later...not so happy.

They went on this with Joey.
You can't tell unless you blow up the picture but Joey is having a great time and Nicholas and Matthew are nauseous from the previous ride and thought that this one would be an easy ride.  It turned and dipped all over the place.

I couldn't help but laugh...

Our last day in the mountains, we headed to Blowing Rock for a bit of hiking and playing in the creek.
I think that was my favorite part of the entire trip.  The kids had a ball just playing with the rocks and wading in the shallow water.

We all worked up an appetite, so it was time for some Mellow Mushroom pizzas before we headed back home.

While in the mountains, we had a lovely walk through the neighborhood.
Our cabin was situated at the top of a small mountain and had the most wonderful breezes and views of surrounding mountains.  We headed down the mountain for some fun sight seeing and fresh air.

Sweets with her daddy.
This pictures just make me melt into a puddle of goo.

Her pouty lip.

Kisses for daddy.

We spent Labor Day weekend in my favorite place (next to our home)...the mountains!
Before heading to the rental cabin, we took some time to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and have a picnic.  It's so fun imagining who lives in the little farms down below and picking our a favorite.

Sweets enjoying the view.

After we checked into our cabin and got settled, we headed into downtown Boone for some shopping.

We then headed to Blowing Rock for dinner.
The boys loved the foosball table while waiting for their dinner.

The next day we headed to Todd for some tubing on the New.

I can't even take it...she's gonna kill me someday for this, but it's sooo cute!!

Here we go!
