95...

95..yes Ninety-five pillowcases!
I just can't even believe it!
The Con Kerr cancer sewing class/event went off great.  We had a great turnout and I hope some of these ladies learned something-I've never taught anyone to sew before, so this was a new experience for me...

It was my idea, but so many folks just took it and ran with it.  I couldn't have done it without them.  Between the donations on my blog, to the woman I've never met that heard about the event and asked her Sunday School class to donate money for which she bought fabric and sewed many, many pillowcases, to the lovely woman's momma that felt led to sew 40 pillowcases, to the girl that came to the event and then shared her experience with another group-which may stir someone else's heart to the cause, on and on and on...

I feel humbly grateful for the time these women spent to help children with cancer.   It warms my heart and really shows kindness for others in need.

Thank you so much for your help and support...

Saturday night sewing for a cause...

My sewing event for ConKerr Cancer went of wonderfully!  We had such a great response and I'm still getting pillowcases in.  I'll give a final tally on Friday.
Anyway, we decided to have a family sew-a-thon on Saturday night since I was too busy teaching others on Thursday to teach the boys and Darryl was occupying Peanut.  The boys picked awesome boy fabric and we had a great time.  (I think secretly Darryl really likes to sew...he did a great job!)

Baby butt on the beach

Vacation, continued...

We took one morning to visit a sleepy fishing village named Appalachicola.  It was a neat village with oyster shells all over town.  Of course, we had to find a restaurant that served oysters and we found a great one right on the river.

He tried them but didn't like them.  They  both loved alligator meat though...

After we stolled around town to burn off our hefty lunch of oysters, alligator meat and grouper sandwiches, we stopped for some HEAVENLY caramel and chocolate gelato...

Vacation, continued...

There was a wonderful pier within walking distance of our condo that we visited nightly to watch amazing sunsets and to fish.

Here is Nicholas fishing.

Matthew's got a big one!

Our 2011 summer beach trip

We had a wonderful, long and relaxing trip to Mexico Beach in Florida last week.  The weather was warm and sunny.  We didn't have one day of rain!
Here are some images from our week.

Matthew practicing skimboarding.
I fell after trying a couple of times-it's hard!

Look how close this pelican was to the boys!

Darryl's favorite activity!

HIs favorite time of day...

Little Peanut loves his bathtime.  He loves to splash and kick and make a big mess..and we love it!
Darryl got him to full-out belly laugh last night in..you guessed it..the bathtub.
Isn't he such a cute water baby?
