I can't believe I forgot to write about SNOWMAGGEDON 2014!
Here in Charlotte, we tend to get a little snow storm once or twice a winter season, but it's only every couple of years that we get a really good one.
This year was the year!
We had about 10 inches here at the homestead.
I'll be honest and say we were a bit snowed out from the previous storm only a week before, but this storm was so pretty it got us all excited!
We all had a great time making a snowman, sledding and playing.
My favorite was sitting in the living room watching the snow fall through the window.  It was so beautiful watching the sweet little birds gather some food.

My silly boys thinking it's funny to run around barefoot in the snow.

Our humble snowman.
Two year old sized.

 Making Snow Cream:
1/4 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup honey
dash of vanilla
Lots of fresh snow!

Little Joe man had such fun creating snow cream for everyone.  He has become such a little helper in the kitchen and loves to cook.  Especially when it involves getting to taste test something sweet!

The Taste

Last Friday, Nicholas and Matthew decided to have a cooking contest.  They kicked Darryl and I out of the kitchen to work their magic.  They were going to make everything.
So, Darryl and I went into the living room with the babies and enjoyed some Olympics while the boys cooked in the kitchen.  While, I usually am grateful for the help I'll be honest and say I was starting to worry as I saw the state of my kitchen.

Hard at work!

The finished result.  They both made a salad as well as an entree for us to judge.  So that means we both had to eat two entire salads and two entrees.  I love that they both put some presentation into it as well (and the glass of wine didn't hurt either).

Both of the boys put such effort into their meals.  They were both so yummy it was hard to decide.
After dinner, they both made some wonderful homemade desserts.
Matthew made a citrus coconut bite size treat and Nicholas made raspberry tortes.
We are lucky parents, I'll tell you.
This was such a great treat!

And look at the kitchen!  Clean as a whistle.  They both helped each other clean up.  It made for such a wonderful evening.

Tea and cookies

Little Joe loves to play with sensory toys.
I have a large plastic box that I filled with pinto beans that he loves to play with.   I give him cups, spoons, funnels, various kitchen items and he will be busy for quite a long time playing.
This week he decided to invite Charlie Brown and Snoopy over for a tea party (or bean party).
He *made* tea and cookies for them and had a grand time!

Mixing honey into the tea.
We all like our tea sweet, don't we?

Little Joe had a cold last week.  He wasn't his usual chipper self and was so sleepy all day.  At one point, he ran into Darryl's office and just wanted to cuddle while he was working.  Daddy obliged.
In between phone calls and computer work, little Peanut fell asleep in daddy's arms.
I then set up a little bed on the floor so he could be right next to his daddy all day.
How lucky we are to be able to spend these moments with our children.
How very blessed to have a job that affords this time.
We are so grateful.

Zaccheus-Chibby style

After we read about Zaccheus this week, the boys were instructed to illustrate the story.
They did so in chibby style.
These make me laugh!
I love chibby Jesus-he's so cute!

King size bed taken over by a 2 year old and 9 month old.
I sometimes find myself sleeping horizontally at the foot of the bed.
Darryl, well Darryl is lucky if he doesn't fall of the edge most nights.
We wouldn't trade it for the world.

My sweet baby cakes watching the birdies.

My boys have become quite the chefs lately.
They love to create in the kitchen and I certainly love the help!
This day was a homemade hummus by Matthew.
His hummus is better than mine!
I love that he cut up some yummy veggies to add to the plate.
They love the presentation as well as the food.
Such wonderful boys I have!
How very proud I am of them.
